How to disable animations in firefox

There are several ways to disable animations in the firefox browser, whether it is an animated gif or a flash animation.

How to block .gif animations

• In order to temporarily disable .gif animations, simply press the escape key while you are in the browser window.
• In order to permanently disable .gif animations, you will need to open the firefox configuration file. To do this, type about:config into the address bar. Then, look for “image.animation_mode”, double-click it, and type none.

How to block flash animations

• To disable flash animations, you will need to install the flashblock firefox extension.
